What VPN Play does
VPN Play runs VPN on your device using configs you add or receive from someone you trust. It periodically tests whether key websites are reachable through your connection and shows you the results.
What we collect
Device identifier
A random ID generated on your device (e.g. "a-3f8kz2lp"). Never tied to your name, phone number, or any account unless you sign in.
Probe results
Sites tested, response times, error types, VPN state, and approximate network location (ASN, city, country from your IP). Stored on our servers to show you history and let your VPN admin see how your connection is performing.
VPN configs
Stored locally on your device only. When shared via invite, configs are encrypted end-to-end before leaving the sender's device — we cannot read them.
Account info (optional)
If you sign in with Apple or Google, we store your name and email to link probe history across your devices. Sign-in is optional and not required to use VPN.
What we do NOT collect
We do not collect, log, or inspect your VPN traffic, browsing history, or the content of any websites you visit.
Third-party services
Supabase
Our backend database and API (supabase.com). Probe results, invite records, and account data are stored there.
Apple / Google
Used only for sign-in if you choose to sign in. Subject to their own privacy policies.
Data retention
Probe results are kept for 90 days. Invite records are deleted after the invite expires (10 minutes) or after the config is delivered. You can delete your account and all associated data by contacting us.
